A3 Print of an oil painting I created during my residency at Studio Garonne in the South of France.

I travelled by train from London, down to Toulouse, before moving on to St Martory in the foothills of the Pyrenees. During this time I drew, photographed and collaged at every stage, pulling in lines, shapes and motifs from every stage part of the journey. I was able to reconnect with oil painting during my time on the residency, and found it to be the perfect medium to visually melt my drawings together, to create a abstract impression of the feeling of travelling in between places. Toulouse, as I later found out, is referred to as ‘La Ville Rose’ and to look at this painting, feels like looking over the dusty hues of the Pink City itself.
